I believe in a person-first approach to academic coaching that encourages students to develop self-confidence and strengthen their ability to self-direct.
Rachel Goulston
Coordinator, Tutor
Executive Functioning Specialist
With a B.A in Sociology and a minor in education studies from New York University, alongside several years of experience as an academic coach for at-risk post-secondary students, I specialize in executive function support, as well as reading, writing, and study skills. Over the past two years working in higher-ed, my person-focused approach has assisted over 80% of my returning students in achieving a GPA increase of 0.25 points or greater from year to year.
Beyond skill and habit-building, my approach to coaching encourages students to develop self-confidence and strengthen their ability to self-direct, a practice which contributed to my receipt of the Student Appreciation Award for a staff member at Stonehill College in 2026. Each student presents a unique challenge, and I love to take time to figure out what works!
When I am not building task lists and workshopping essays, I enjoy devouring literary and speculative fiction novels, exploring new local cafes, and twiddling away on my guitar!
I offer online sessions Monday-Friday - let’s work together to achieve your academic goals!
